Reflecting Peace
A Mural by Leon Rainbow & Busta Art
📍 Capital Area YMCA – 431 Pennington Avenue, Trenton, NJ
Reflecting Peace mural by artists Leon Rainbow and Busta Art, created in partnership with Capital Area YMCA, Capital Health’s Victory Program, and Isles. Installed at the Capital Area YMCA in Trenton, NJ, the mural transforms a 40-foot wall into a powerful visual conversation about peace, unity, and collective healing.
At the heart of the mural is a massive peace symbol, rooted in both struggle and strength — its woven chains and tree-like form representing the resilience it takes to build peace in our communities. On one side, silhouettes of peaceful protestors carry messages like “Enough is Enough” and “Stop the Violence”, while on the other, a powerful portrait of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminds us of the enduring call for nonviolence and justice.
Bright daisies and a purple origami crane represent hope and renewal. Below Dr. King, diverse hands hold colorful puzzle pieces labeled with “Love”, “Unity”, and “Community”. These puzzle pieces reflect the idea that peace isn’t built alone — it’s a shared effort, where everyone plays a part.
Together, these elements become a reflection of peace — a vision of what’s possible when we rise together, stand against violence, and choose compassion and connection.
