Works by Keith Haring and Chakaia Booker, on display in Hamilton, suggest that the market tends to tame the mischief of street art.

Saturday, June 5, Will Kasso and Myself were invited to paint a car at the Grounds for Sculpture. We were very excited about this project being that the Grounds is such a special place and a great art institution. It was surreal with the sculptures and peacocks running around. Turned out crazy the car will be on display for at least the rest of the month. So if your in the neighborhood drop by.
Excerpt from original press release:
Grounds For Sculpture will paint a car! Gratuitous of a vehicle
donation by Suburban Wrench of Pennington, NJ, Grounds For Sculpture will conduct a very special demonstration as local graffiti artists Leon Rainbow and Will “Kasso” Condry invoke the spirit of popular avaunt garde artist Keith Haring and the iconic occasion in 1982 when Haring painted a BMW. Experience this unconventional art piece come to colorful life in a modern day variation!
This wall was created by DELVE www.flickr.com/photos/delovate/ ,Will Kasso www.flickr.com/photos/kasso_vs/ & Leon Rainbow www.leonrainbow.com. We decided to do a tribute wall for Guru of the hip hop duo, GANGSTARR. Guru passed away recently due to a battle with cancer. His death was a huge blow to the Hip Hop community. This wall is in honor of a legendary emcee who left a wealth of material for future generations to come.

This wall is on the side of T & T Auto, Pennington and Prospect St in Trenton, NJ. The wall has always been some what controversial with the Neighbors, but the owner Cliff always had my back. It definitely did not help that the last two walls, although both had a positive message, involved the devil. So when I decided to re-paint the wall I wanted to do two things: 1. Do the wall in a similar fashion to the way I do my water colors. 2. Paint something beautiful that the neighbors would love. So I worked the background and Ras did the portrait ( a random picture of Model Sincerely Ward). Ras was half-way done with the portrait when one of the neighbors stopped and said that the portrait looked like a demon, because it was blue. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

I originally painted the piece on the bottom based on a Spanish landscape painting for my friend Anne in 2003. She had problems with kids running through her alley and tagging her garage door. The piece ran for many years without any issues until about 6 months ago someone tagged some obscenities over it. So, Anne asked me to come repaint it I showed her some of the recent sketches I have been doing and she told me to run with it. The Layout is based on the freestyle friday week #15.
