They will all be using Montana spray paint and paint markers. A qualified panel of judges base the art on different criteria, lettering, concept, color, composition, originality and technique.

Crescent will provide all on-time attendees with Black Book. Colorest will be providing some art materials, although contestants are urged to bring materials such as: colored pencils, markers, paint markers etc. to compete in battle. Sharing could take away valuable time! Registration is limited!

Winner Receives:

Art Materials Valued at $100 and Gift Card From Rare Breed Footwear!

Registrants will be given a topic to use for inspiration, they will be allowed 60 minutes to complete this piece. Then Judges will pick winner based on same criteria for Aerosol Event. If you have never competed and want some tips take our workshop from 12-2 on Saturday 11/12 with Leon Rainbow (Judge) for tips and tricks!

What is a Black Book Battle?

Similar to the aerosol event but, instead of painting on large surfaces you draw, paint and design all on paper. Black books are a place for artists to put down ideas, Crescent® Graffiti Paper™ is designed specifically for spray paints, acrylics and won’t dry out markers. Great place for artists to sketch or experiment anywhere inspiration strikes.

Mrs. G TV & Appliances is calling on all young artists in grades 6 through 12 to show their talent and support of Breast Cancer Awareness in a refrigerator-decorating contest. The top 3 entries will be invited to our showroom to paint their designs on retired refrigerators and have a chance to meet Trenton graffiti artist Leon Rainbow, the Jersey Fresh Jam artist who has been featured on CNN and in the New York Times and Princeton Magazine. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $150 savings bond and Mrs. G TV & Appliances will give a matching donation, plus $1 for every voter entry up to $500, to Susan G. Komen of Central/South Jersey.

To participate, please download the entry form and template (PDF or JPG) and come up with your design concept, keeping in mind that you will have to paint it on a full-size fridge if you are one of the top 3 chosen. All students under the age of 18 must have signed parent/guardian permission to participate in the contest. Signed consent also gives Mrs. G TV & Appliances permission to use any images of the winning design and artist in any media placement during and following the contest. HUSTLEJAWN is a new concept brought to you by It’s The Life Creative. Known for thorough production and wide ranged experience in the creative and nightlife scenes, these ladies are bringing you a different kind of experience on a Friday Night in Philadelphia.

On Friday July 29, HUSTLEJAWN jumps off at one of Philly’s newest hubs for live music, The Blockley. The event embodies creativity and the hustle of who we are as artists. As creative people, we all have to hustle in order to live our lives as artists. It’s The Life brings together some of Philadelphia’s most creative and talented Visual Artists, Photographers, Live Artists, Mc’s, Dj’s, Designers and more to showcase their work and sell their work during the event.

HUSTLEJAWN is proud to announce that Philadelphia’s Freeway headlining the show. ITL featured Freeway in their Inside The Studio Series almost a year ago. His story is a great one! Starting out in one area of the music industry only to end up at the opposite end of it all. Now performing at events like Bonaroo and SXSW, he’s on a new mission.

Opening up the event will be ITL’s very own, DJ Afrodjiak. An opening performance by none other than Ms. Jade will start the show. Having a Freeway + Ms. Jade show is no doubt a powerful punch. In addition, Live Artists and Vendors will surround the venue, offering amazing visuals, exhibited works of art and items for purchase throughout the night. We invite you to come out early and take it all in.

We encourage Philadelphia to come be a part of something really special. The complete details of the event are below. If you are interested in Exhibiting, Painting Live or Vending, please contact Stacey Wilson at for more information.
